Terms of Service

Last updated: 1 July 2026

This page is maintained by the Legereum team to explain how the Legereum wallet works, what you are responsible for, and the limits of the service. Please read it fully before creating a wallet.

1. What Legereum is

Legereum is a non-custodial cryptocurrency wallet. Your 12-word recovery phrase and the private keys derived from it are generated on your device and encrypted locally with a password only you know.

We do not hold, freeze, or reverse blockchain transactions. Once a transaction is broadcast to a network (Ethereum, BNB Chain, Bitcoin, Solana, or any supported chain), it is final.

2. Your responsibilities

  • Safely store your 12-word recovery phrase offline. Legereum cannot recover it for you.
  • Keep your password confidential. Anyone with your phrase or an unlocked device can move your funds.
  • Verify recipient addresses before sending — blockchain transfers cannot be undone.
  • Comply with the laws of your country regarding cryptocurrency, taxation, and reporting.

3. Network fees (gas)

Every blockchain transaction requires a network fee paid to the underlying network's validators — not to Legereum. These fees vary with network conditions and are quoted in the network's native token (for example, BNB on BNB Chain or ETH on Ethereum).

For USDT transfers on BNB Chain routed through Legereum, the network fee is paid in BNB. You must hold enough BNB in the same wallet to cover the fee shown at the time of sending. If the fee changes between when you review and when you sign, the transaction may fail and any BNB spent on the failed attempt is not refundable.

Legereum may display an estimated fee in USD for convenience only. The estimate is not a quote and is not binding.

4. Account balances and admin-managed assets

Certain features (such as internal USDT balances managed by the Legereum team for demonstrations, promotions, or support) are shown inside the wallet UI but are not on-chain balances until an on-chain transfer is executed. These balances can be adjusted by Legereum administrators and are governed by the promotion or agreement under which they were granted.

5. Third-party networks and services

Legereum uses public RPC endpoints, block explorers, price feeds (CoinGecko), and — when you opt in — cross-chain bridge aggregators such as LI.FI/Jumper. These are operated by third parties and are subject to their own terms and availability. Legereum is not responsible for outages, incorrect data, or losses caused by those services.

6. No investment advice

Nothing in Legereum is financial, investment, legal, or tax advice. Digital assets are volatile and can lose value.

7. Disclaimer and limits of liability

The Legereum wallet is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Legereum and its contributors are not liable for lost funds, lost keys, forgotten passwords, forgotten recovery phrases, network failures, smart-contract bugs on third-party networks, or any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

8. Prohibited use

You agree not to use Legereum for money laundering, terrorism financing, sanctions evasion, fraud, or any activity unlawful in your jurisdiction.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the product evolves. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above. Your continued use of the wallet after an update constitutes acceptance.
